total savings

Adam and I picked up cereal (8 boxes), meat, cookie dough (2 packages), granola bars (4 boxes), and a 24 pack of Coke Zero at Safeway last week for $2.56. We laughed when we looked at our two receipts and they read: "Total Savings 93%," and "Total Savings 100%."
Since the dental school budget is fully in effect and we now have $140 a month for groceries, shopping trips like this are a huge help! :)

Wow! Super impressive shopping! It sure didn't take you long to figure out the system!

You're cute... thanks! I'm having lots of chances to put your 'frugal tips' into practice (loving cloth diapers by the way!). :)

You're my hero. I always try to save more than I spend, but I've never achieved a receipt like that! How did you do it?
I didn't know you were doing cloth, too. What kind do you use?

Thanks love. :) We combined sales, coupons and a couple leftover "$10 off your next purchase" from a few weeks ago.

And, yep, we are part of the cloth diaper crew... We have a couple of "nice" diapers (Happy Heiny and BumGenius) for when other people are watching him, airports, etc... and then we've been using prefolds with Thirsties covers (I'm too dangerous with the pins). What do y'all use???

I tried some inexpensive contours (similar to prefolds) and was not a fan. Now I use bumgenius and wahmies, and I love it. I've been able to get good deals on gently used ones at diaperswappers.com

oooh- thanks for the reference... we are still needing to get a few more, so that'll be super helpful! :)
